SET Website Privacy Policy

Support Employment Transitions respects the privacy of our online visitors and does not require you to register or provide personal information to view our website.

Links to third party websites on the SET site are provided as a convenience
to our clients. SET has not reviewed all of these third party sites and does
not control and is not responsible for any of these sites or their content. We
do not endorse or make any representations about them, or any information, software or other products or materials found there, or any results that may be obtained from using them. If you decide to access any of the third party sites linked to the SET website, you do this entirely at your own risk.


SET Privacy Policy

In order to ensure the protection of client Personal Information (PI), SLB has developed the following privacy policies for clients accessing services delivered by Supporting Employment Transitions.


Principle 1. ACCOUNTABILITY
SET will be accountable for the protection of all personal information under their control. Responsibility for compliance with this Policy rests with the Privacy Officer.


Principle 2. IDENTIFYING PURPOSE
Self-Services: SET collects PI to provide services to clients to assist them with their job search and to gather information for tracking and statistics to fulfill the agreement between SET and Service Canada, and as of Feb. 2/09, the Government of British Columbia.

Assisted Services:  SET collects PI to provide clients with Employment Needs Assessments (ENA), the development of Return to Work Action Plans (RTWAP) and Employment Counselling, to fulfill the agreement between SET and Service Canada, and as of Feb. 2/09, the Government of British Columbia, to provide Employment Assistance Services.


Principle 3. CONSENT
Self Services:  By registering for service, clients are giving their consent to capture statistics on information provided.

Assisted Services:  Clients are required to sign consent to release information to Service Canada and as of Feb. 2/09, the Government of British Columbia, and agencies listed on their individual RTWAP.  Without providing consent this will affect our ability to provide Employment Assistance Services.


Principle 4. LIMITED COLLECTION
Only personal information relevant to the client's activities with SET will be collected and stored. All information is collected by fair and lawful means. PI typically includes: Social Insurance Number, name, address, phone number, sex, preferred official language of service, education, sources of income, action plan start and completion dates and outcomes, type of program intervention provided and results.


Principle 5. LIMITED USE, DISCLOSURE AND RETENTION
SET does not use personal information for any purpose other than for which it was collected, except with the consent of the client or as required by law.  Client files will be kept for as long as necessary to provide service to clients and fulfill the agreement between Service Canada and as of Feb. 2/09, the Government of British Columbia, and SET.  All personal information will be kept for a minimum of 12 months after the file has been closed. 


Principle 6. ACCURACY
SET will make every reasonable attempt to ensure client PI collected is accurate and up to date.


Principle 7. SAFEGUARDS
SET has implemented physical, organizational and technological measures to ensure safeguards of PI.


Principle 8. OPENNESS
Clients will be provided with a copy of their Registration Form, Employment Needs Assessment, and Return to Work Action Plan. SET will provide specific information about its policies upon request. Please contact info@slbconsulting.com


Principle 9. INDIVIDUAL ACCESS
Access requests should be directed to info@slbconsulting.com or in writing to the Privacy Officer. We will respond within 30 business days of receipt.


Principle 10. CHALLENGING COMPLIANCE
Any compliance challenge regarding SET privacy policy and procedures manual should be directed to info@slbconsulting.com or in writing to the Privacy Officer.
